“The access to so many mediums and the background/knowledge of the teacher.”

“It’s perfect and it’s going to be PDX kids/parents newest addiction! Immersive art class- where kids can explore color, textures, movement – all in one space. I also liked that non conventional/textured art tools were put out for the students as well.”

What was the most meaningful or enjoyable part of the class for you and your child?
“For comparison, we go to a messy art class at the community center. That class has a couple different stations with kids size tables and chairs and the kids can go to all the stations as they please. But there are no drop cloths and the materials are not allowed to leave the stations. Letting the kids get totally immersed in the art is really special!”

We’re all about meeting a child where they’re at.
🖌 This is truly a process over product class—meaning we’ll focus on exploration, not perfect outcomes. From sitting or jumping to the music, to using a tool or hands (or feet?!) to paint, all children are encouraged to engage however feels right to them!
Do they want to paint themselves from head to toe? Amazing.
Wanting to just observe from the lap of a caretaker? We’ve got the music to gently groove to.
Do they want to create without getting messy? We’ve got plenty of tools to explore.
Our Tools and Art Activities:
Cardboard towers, anything but paint brushes (scrapers, play hammers, sponges, bubble-wrap), recycled materials, and more!
Hi!! I’m Mindy and I’m so happy you’ve found me!!
I’m an educator (Master in the Art of Teaching, specializing in inclusive early childhood), former nanny + dance specialist, and a new Portland resident! I’m building a creative and welcoming space for little ones and their caregivers to move freely to music, get messy with various art supplies, and connect together as a community.
