What To Expect
A welcoming art & movement studio with rotating materials and intentional music
Guidance and inspiration from an experienced early childhood educator
How is Ms. Mindy’s Studio different from other art studios?
Gentle music will be playing as you enter the creative space, forming a magical world together for the length of our class. Miss Mindy’s is a caregiver-and-me art and movement program for toddlers, designed and led by a former educator with a Master’s in Inclusive Early Childhood Education that hosts classes in a process over product manner.
What should my child bring to class?
Water bottle, mess-friendly clothes, a spare outfit just in case.
What is "process-over product"?
Process over product means we’re focussing on the experience of the art, not the outcome. Your little one will have creative freedom to express themselves, make their own choices, and connect with you! Getting messy with art and movement isn’t just play- it’s how children learn, grow, and explore.
What is your sick policy?
Please only come to class if you and your child have been fever free without medication for 24 hours. This keeps everyone healthy! Reach out (missmindysstudio@gmail.com) to receive a class credit. Class credit due to sickness are allowed once every three months.
What is your cancellation policy?
As a small business that limits the number of participants for maximum comfort, there are no refunds for single classes cancelled with less than 48 hours notice. You may choose:
1. You are able to transfer to a family member or friend, free of charge, even within 48 hours notice.
2. If cancellation is 14 days or more before the class, you can be provided with a credit note for a future class.
If the class is cancelled by Miss Mindy’s studio, all customers who were booked will receive a credit for a future class. On rare occasions, classes may need to close for the safety of getting to the event space. Weather will follow Portland Public Schools’ closures, though it’s possible classes may choose to open or close outside of their decision.
